The Boss OD-1 Overdrive was one of the first 3 Boss compact pedals produced (along with the PH-1 and SP-1). The OD-1 was released in a time when fuzz and distortion were the go-to choice for guitarists and overdrive was considered to be too underwhelming. The OD-1 and was originally planned to be a distortion effect, however the designer decided on the smooth, clear overdrive that can be dialled from a crisp clean boost up to a warm crunch. The OD-1 was one of the first pedals to use the term "Overdrive", with pedals prior to this generally being referred to as "soft distortion" (such as the OD-880).
The OD-1 had a range of PCB revisions and IC changes over the years. The first batch used mainly the RC3403ADB Quad Op-Amp (known as the "long chip") and these pedals are considered to be the most desirable OD-1's. The second version used a pair of Dual Op-Amps such as the famous JRC4558. This change occurred not long into the production and was likely due to the lower costs of using Japanese produced IC's rather than the USA made RC3403, although a Boss employee claimed the change was due to the high rate of faulty RC3403 chips that were being supplied.
The OD-1 features a simple interface, the Level knob increases the output volume of the pedal and the Overdrive knob controls the intensity of the drive.
This one features the JRC4558 chip and was made in 1980.
Condition:
Great condition with only very minor wear, includes the original box as pictured and is an earlier silver screw, long dash model. OD-1's are drying up on the market for collectors and this one ticks a lot of boxes!

Machine stopped working after factory warranty expired
My Cricut Maker 3 stopped working after 2.5 years and luckily I had bought this insurance for 3 years. I summited my claim and Asurion provided a UPS prepaid shipping label, I had to pack the machine and send it but I did not have a box beg enough to put the machine so it took me around 5 days to find one. When I tried to print the shipping label, it was not working so I contacted Asurion customer service, the customer service associate was very friendly and helped me to get a new shipping label. Did no have any issues, so would recommend to get this protection in case your factory warranty runs out.

NO WARRANTY EVEN IF YOU PAY EXTRA FOR IT.
Beware
I purchased a casement window air conditioner AND the asurion 3 year warranty extension for the unit. The air conditioner was faulty from day one in that the temperature control did NOT control temperature and the compressor would not stay on unless the unit was set at the minimum 62 F setting. I called the manufacturer/distributor of the air conditioner and they informed me that there was NO WARRANTY on the unit because it was sold by a third party. The unit was only warranted if it was purchased directly from the distributor themselves.
I then checked with the extended warranty company *asurion" and was told they would not warrantly the product until after 12 months subsequent from purchase.
I highly suggest that anyone concerned with receiving a working product from Amazon should take care to investigate thoroughly before placing an order.
I contacted Amazon and they will replace or refund these items however I see no choice but to get a refund. Replacement with a non-warrantied product seems like something even a very foolish person would not consider.
Asurion's policy on not honoring it's extended warranty until 12 months after purchase is also hmmmmm unusual and makes their warranty products a questionable purchase.
